Jamin - you get a shirt with your guitar order!

We typically ship it in the case with the guitar.

(Seriously)

Ah, I forgot about the 'what shirt size are you' question on the order form. I thought maybe it was an ergonomics question - if my belly is too big you'll make me an inverted radius back.

Seriously, it's a beautiful thing and a fitting tribute to your brother. I love the theme and have been really enjoying watching this one come together.
Thanks....it is one beeeeching build. Woops...is that a violation? I referred to rules from one of my reprimands..This includes masking of text using symbols instead of letters (ie. ****, @#$%, etc…)... I think I am good. It is a surfing build so "beeeeching" is relating to what mother ocean has given us.

My band Mo' Gravy is gonna send the Burners a couple of Mo' Gravy shirts. I will wear my tie dye one in fit with the surfing theme.

I told Keith I would post some updated photos for him today from work we did yesterday.

The headstock overlay has been put on the neck and shaped. We still need to bind it with some MadRose - but that will come soon.

We also did the side markers on the fingerboard - and things are progressing nicely.

Kyle started work on the sound port - but no photos of it yet as we aren't quite to that point yet.

We put in some tuners to show Keith the look - and just places a pre-shaped tusq nut in place so he could get the feel for the entire look. After seeing the photos Keith is having us look into using the antique gold tuners instead of the shiny ones.

That looks great! You might both also consider seeing how it would look with the Black Cosmo Gotoh's...

Cheers!

Wow! Just spent the last hour reading this thread. What a great build and tribute to your brother. The Burners where a great choice of builders. Very caring people. Glad to have played a small part in it.

BobC (Zootman) - we are honored by your words! Thanks.

As a favor to Keith I am posting photos from a little work that was done tonight.

There are two ways to fret a fingerboard - before it is glued onto the neck - and after. We were taught by Kevin G to do this before. Of all the things that I enjoy in guitar building - I truly LOVE fretting a guitar. Just don't ask me how many times I knocked over the fret holder you see in the first photo. Sheesh - a guy should learn after 3 or 4 times to make something more substantial - LOL

Photo #2: Frets in and ready to be filed flush to the board and then angle filed.
I actually had to pull a couple frets and replace them with ones
that had the tangs spread a little bit more. It's interesting how you
can actually feel a loose fret when you're filing.
