Great work.
Thanks, but the real thanks to the Burners who have been very patient with me obsessing over endless details that probably most people don't worry about. I guess it is better that I seem to be ahead of when the work is done instead of saying "OH NO....That isn't what I wanted there"

They are good people then! I am going through the same thing in my build, it hasn't started and I'm already on the finishing details, obsessing and getting ideas all over the place. God bless Covey, he is patient as the day is long.
We do owe these luthiers a debt of gratitude, don't we?
But still, I do admire your decisions and the heart that is going into your ideas.

Sure we owe them gratitude.....and they seem to be gradeful for us entrusting them with our project. Seems like really all of the luthiers I have spoken to and interacted with are not only good people, but they are very supportive of each other. Really a pretty good group of people that genuinely care about where they fit in the world.

+10 on the above as well.

I was recently told of a luthier over here (on our forum, on my build thread) who was over 12 months past the delivery date and the buyer had only received two or three e-mails or phone calls since the build start - all initiated by the buyer. All were amazed at the time when I informed then that my Cornerstone build had not even started yet and I had counted approximately 40-50 e-mail discussions with PeterM, about 10 already from Michael Bashkin and we are only due to start in August 2011 on that build. I also still have the odd communication e-mails (unsolicited and unsoliciting if that is a word) from a few Luthiers I originally discussed a potential build with. They all know that I have made the selection already!!!

Didn't realize that Cornerstone build thread was yours. How exciting. Peter has such beautiful work. Love the Sapele that Peter chose for you, it is like Tree Sapele. It should be a great guitar.

Thx Keith, I can't wait and yet it's the wait that also adds to the pleasure of the journey as well.

I am really enjoying your three current build threads as well - keep the pics coming please.

That fretboard is stunning Keith - I'm amazed at how much it looks like a decent wave.

All I need is some tasty waves, cool buzz, and I'm fine - Jeff Spicoli, Fast Times at Ridgemont High

You know I had never really been drawn to figured fretboards - a part of my preference for 'clean' guitars I guess. But this one just nails the theme. And it's not just figured, it really is 'rolling in'.

I am the same way.... but it really was so fitting to the theme.... I am appreciative to the Burners for coming up with the concept and procuring it. Very nice job.

Don't surfers always say "sweeeet!" ???

If so, then (in my best Keanu Reaves impression) I say so and add a "whoa!"

Seriously, it's a beautiful thing and a fitting tribute to your brother. I love the theme and have been really enjoying watching this one come together.
