Smile 1997 Taylor 514c Tim L bone setup, ex+ SOLD AGF! CHEERS

Greetings and salutations excellent AGF people

Offering my VERY NICE 1997 Taylor 514c, with upgraded Taylor bone nut and saddle and a McIntyre acoustic feather bridge plate transducer. Super clean.

Deal fell thru so back up she goes!

Has two small dropfilled top dings. And I just found a couple finish dings on top of headstock. Pics of dings coming.

Very little play wear and perfect structurally!

Almost no fretwear since REFRESH, fret dress, pup install, and buff/complete setup WITH BONE NUT AND SADDLE, by Tim Luranc at Taylor Repair Center in El Cajon Ca.

Very smooth Gold Grovers with light weight WMP plastic buttons. Original buttons in case. Light as a feather. Sounds fantastic. Slim 90s neck...
this came with a beat up case.
Now with a brand new Taylor Brown case in perfect condition.

NOW SOLD AGF

. Insured on my Heritage account.

I know this is a bit more than normal going price, but this guitar has A LOT of very nice upgrades and sports a PERFECT neck angle and setup by Master Luthier and Senior Repair Tech Tim Luranc.
For the few who do not know, Tim was the Master Luthier in charge of R.Taylor for the entire six years of production. His setups are as good as they get!

It is unlikely I would trade, but I try hard to never say never... however a straight sale would be preferred at this point.

My second backup axe for years, and a Most Excellent gigging axe! And an iconic model from Taylor's mid 90s
"Golden Age". Ready to go to work, or just enjoy at home.

Rest assured this sweetheart will be packed like fine china, swaddled like a well loved baby, and double boxed for interstellar travel. Hahahahaha

Pics Below via AGF app! Yay

Cheers

Paul

Smile Bump for a mighty fine iconic 514c

This originally shipped without electronics, so there's no barn door. That's a good thing… Any questions on this give me a shout!

It would be VERY hard to find a more playable Golden age 514c!!!

Happy Tuesday to all

PAUL

Wow - that's a sweet 514c!

How's the McIntyre installed (glue, tape, other)? And do you have the original end pin?

This one is tempting...

Smile Mac feather

Good questions Steve.

Don't think I have the original end pin, but heck, they made thousands of them. Sure I could find another if needed.

The Feather was installed however they recommended. I think that is sticky stuff on the back of the unit?

I had it plugged in a couple weeks ago and it sounds huge and very woody. Pleased to report it sounds fantastic thru my Red Eye Pre. Also sounds real good straight into my Acoustic Image amp. Rips for slide in Open D, too! Body percussion is spectacular on this one!

It will be missed, but bills must be paid...

Any other questions fire away!

Cheers

Paul

This would be a cedar top, correct? I know all the other 500s in '97 were Engelmann...but if I recall correctly the 514 was cedar.

Smile Cedar Top indeed

Yes, Steve, the top is Cedar, and quite nice Cedar it is! As far as I know the 514s have always had Cedar tops, although many other 5 series had engleman...

This has a great tone for fingerstyle, but holds up to pretty vigorous strumming well, too.

Someone will love this axe, and the playability is off the charts!

Thumbs up

Awesome looking 'golden age' Taylor. Paul's guitars are always a treat - well cared for, and superbly packed/shipped. This one looks to be a primo example of what many of us love about '90's Taylors (neck, tone, a great vibe!!!). Great opportunity here!

I would love to hear him play some slide on this old 514c. I love it for slide myself!!!

very nice axe Paul.
those older Taylor's were so well made.
Less production back then, therefore, more attenion to detail.

Boy, that one is tempting to me too. I own a 98 512 that I love. These older Taylors have that certain "sumthin" that just speaks to me. I'm confident that this one is no different. And I've been wanting a guitar with a cedar top now that I have my allergies under control. Good buddy discounts Paul???? Ha! I need another guitar like I need two more holes in my head .

Anyone who buys this will love it. As Andy (Carmel Cedar) said, you can count on great things from Paul. One great guy and yes a friend of mine, but I'd say this good stuff even if he wasn't. He just treats people right, that's all .
