Stephen Stills Manassas cover
This song was a result of Chris Hillman playing a tape for Stills of he and Rick
Roberts jamming to an original song when they were in the Flying Burrito Brothers. Stills loved the tune and went and wrote some great lyrics for it. Stills had assumed it was Chris Hillman's tune so early release had credited the song to Hillman and Stills. Later on the song credit was corrected to include Rick Roberts. Rick released his version with his lyrics on the Firefall album. This is my attempt at a cover of the Manassas version with added vocal harmonies and an improvised lead guitar break: |

Great tune. Well done. Thanks for posting it. I played that side of that album till the grooves wore out, back in the day. Just to hear that song.
