Wow...I knew you'd be up early but a post a 5:43 AM? Glad you waited to be safe. Beautiful guitar and I'm sure it sounds the same! Big Congrats!
PS: I have that same '35 sunburst on a CS D-18 and Martin has really stepped up their game in that dept. That is really a stellar looking guitar!

Congratulations on a beautiful and rare Martin. And wow, your restraint was amazing. I haven't been this keen to check an AGF thread in years.
I became fascinated by 12 fret guitars a few years ago and I have wondered if the 0000 12 fret is the ultimate of everything. I'm mighty tempted. hope you get years of enjoyment!

Again, Congratulations on the new guitar. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
I’ve never experienced a 0000. Hopefully one day. Happy Thanksgiving! |

Hey, lowrider, that is a cool guitar! I love the ‘35 burst and the 12 fret join. If you want that cutaway; it’s never too late. I have a little time before dinner…

You obviously have a lot to be thankful for beyond a beautiful new Martin. Enjoy your holiday wearing out those strings!

I just talked to my guy at Willcutt. I called to get the build sheet, which they forgot to send with the guitar. He told that this wasn't a group order, it's the only one. Right now there aren't plans for another order.
So this is my second one-of-a-kind Martin. Here's a pic with the other one, my J-17 that I got 2 or 3 years ago; Happy Black Friday everyone. I'm sitting on the side for this one. I'm all shopped out! |

This afternoon I was playing it back to back with my other guitars. It really showed how much better it is than my J-17. Both are spruce and mohagany, the the 18 series guitar just shines over the 17. The J-17 does stand up to the J-40 so who knows.
The 0000-18 really matches up nicely with the GP-28. Switching back and forth between the mahogany and the rosewood, each sounded great and the complimented each other nicely. Last edited by lowrider; 11-29-2021 at 11:11 PM. |

SO gorgeous!
How are your impressions now the initial impression is behind you? This feels a lot like the ultimate 18 series Martin to me.

I ordered one of those myself from Willcutt in natural. It should arrive tomorrow (already delayed twice by Fedex). I would love you hear your impressions to temper my frustration with Fedex.
And.. congratulations! |
