Yes, this is a really great rendition! I have heard Tommy play this song so many times, including live, but this is really something extra.
It looks like Tommy stuck his hands in mud and also smeared the top of the guitar with mud! Man, it sure creates an image to fit the song!  Still, I could never, ever smear mud across the top of my guitar. But then I would never take sandpaper to the top of the guitar like Tommy does just so that he has a surface he can make sound effects with.  The thing about this song that always kept me from playing it was singing that line, "my old gal looks like a water fowl." My wife is still a good looking lady; no way is she going to hear me sing that! This version makes me feel like learning to play this, but I gotta get that line out of the song.  - Glenn
