Alan, did your client have specific reasons for choosing EIR? I think it's an oftentimes (unfairly) underrated wood that combines perfectly with Cedar in the hands of the right builer (clearly the case here).
Well, Some folks prefer Cedar/EIR over Cedar/BRW for SJ model. The client was one of them.

Indeed, Fine Luthiers can build great sounding guitars with any tonewood~

Hi, Folks

Here are a few photos of the body still rough and dirty on the exterior.

Drew picked out the brownest Coco for the accents as requested, and applied to the backstrip and the end wedge part.

While waiting on delivery of the correct W/B/W purfling lines for the rosette, Drew installed filler purfling strips in the channels but not glued in.

Now the purflings are swapped and glued in the rosette. Beautiful!

Cheers,

Alan

Looking great Alan. I like the riff on the Olson rosette here!

Default Drew Heinonen on TV

Drew was on a PBS TV show a couple of weeks ago!
We're so happy to see some of the guitars we've been working together mainly presented in the show~
Here you go folks! Enjoy!

Cheers

Here we have the completed body.

As per our request, Drew selected the brownest Cocobolo accent for the purflings and bindings.

The work is seamless here for the W/B/W purflings on the B&S and End Wedge.

The headstock is the highlight of this design theme.

Drew managed to execute the abalone Infilled wood logo with his hand tool. This custom logo is smaller than his usual.

Great Workmanship!

Cheers,

Alan
