Default Guild F250e Deluxe

I've got my serious buy eye on this jumbo. What is the general opinion of this guitar? Yay or nay?

OK - so it's the 'Made in China' version of the Guild F-50, minus some bling but with a factory fitted pick up system ... and not only does it have the same unbraced arch back as the US made maple jumbo guitars but it also looks pretty good too!

Price doesn't include a hard case but that's still a lot of guitar for the money.

It does look good, and I've always wanted a Guild. They must be kinda popular, Musician's Friend is out of stock and not shipping until 3/16/2020. I'm thinking I might give it a try and make it a pet project of mine

The reason why this guitar is in my sights is because a few months ago a friend handed me one to play and I was amazed at the tone and sound coming out of this big jumbo, and seeing that it was a Guild I expected it to be in the 3-4K range. I was more amazed and somewhat shocked when I saw the price. The sound of that jumbo will stand up to any competition in the Guild family of jumbo acoustics, at a fraction of the price. If you can find one. All of the major dealers are advertising Monday, March 16th, 2020, as the shipping date. There is a refurbished one on eBay (at new price & includes a D'Angelico hard-shell case) @ Nashville Guitars but I am not crazy about buying a refurbished anything, really. I suppose patience is my virtue and I will pre-pay and have it shipped when it arrives.

I was hoping to hear from anyone who has played one for any length of time to compare my opinion with theirs. I am anxious to hear F250e Deluxe stories before I buy one. Were you as shocked as I was?

I've got the U.S.-made version, but it costs 3 or 4 times more, and I imagine the F250E is pretty close. It sure looks good! There's a brand new one on reverb, and it even has a "make offer." Best of luck in your hunt!

Thanks for that, DCCougar! There is something about that F250e that doesn't look right. It appears to have some blemishes, mars, on the lower bout, and the edge is off somehow. I don't think I'll make an offer on that. I like my guitars new unless I am buying something not made anymore. Does it look like blemishes of some kind to you? And the edge looks weird at the top of the bout. Not sure what that is but it looks like an interruption of some sort. My searches did not reveal this listing for some reason. Hmmm

It has arrived - my Guild F250e Deluxe. Very handsome finish and it came out of the factory box like it had been set up already. Plays real nice, great action - low but now too low but better than average. This is my duly appointed coffeehouse guitar now. She sounds great!

I would post a pic but I already forgot how lol

I have a 2512, the twelve string version.
I bought mine used and abused. I had to Re-glue the bridge. It also developed a crack in the top that needed repairing.
I’m sure that someday it will require a proper bridge removal and reglue.
As I’ve examined it, and played it, and worked to get it playable I’ve learned a few things.

Mine is a thumper. Uncommon bass for a 12...and with the lightest strings I could find.
It is a VERY lightly built instrument.
It weighs half what my Takamine 12 does.
Over the years, the few Guilds I have been able to lay hands on were built like Anvils. But somehow sounded like they weren’t.

My 2512 is the flimsiest feeling guitar I own.
Tap on the back about a third of the way to the end block from the neck.
It moves/vibrates quite a bit. It feels like it could fold itself up at any moment.
But it gets played a LOT more than most of the guitarsenal.
It’s my third 12-string. And I can’t get over how much I love the way it sounds.
It also plays like it’s reading my mind.
If/when it dies, I’ll be getting another.

Seeing if this works. The link works, but cannot get the image to post here. Why so difficult. Other forums you load from your comp easy clickety-click. Ugh

I just got a new iPhone upgrade and still trying to figure out a few things on it, taking pics one of them. I will figure it out and take some better pics and post them soon. Someone tutored me once here about the pic process but I am also in the midst of customizing my own 24-track recording studio and I am up to and well past my digital signal input processor levels by noon each day lol. I totally forgot how to post the pics. Not too much for this old man to learn, but, with age comes wisdom and frugality, and I takes things down a notch and take the time to appreciate the little things in life that might cost me money later down the road. So when you see this old man shuffling and walking around in circles, I'm not confused or lost, I am merely contemplating. Yeah, that's it!

Pics are forthcoming...

Looks great!

When I learn how to take good pics I will post a few here. Thanks for posting that pic - what did I not do right? The back and sides are flamed and absolutely gorgeous. I urge anyone who wants to get into a full time jumbo with exceptional quality and under $1k to check out the Guild F250e Deluxe jumbo acoustic - I have to say I am way-over-pleased. Great job, Guild!
