Default Is this a scam?

Isn't The Loar LH-600-VS should have flame maple back & sides?

Doesn't look like it.

I don't think it's a scam but no the back and sides do not look like flame maple. Maybe it's the the pics? Or maybe they put in the wrong model name.

They do have flame maple back and sides (I have one ) and the 300, which is laminate back and sides is also flamed. I looked at the pictures and I can't make out a flame. You'd think if it had it would be pictured as a selling point.

Hi, the 600 isn't the top of the line. I've had two - a 600 and a 700 (actually two 700s as I sent the first one back.

It is my belief that these guitars seem to be assembled in appreciable quantities to variable finish and assembly quality. The look of the maple used may be very variable - and in my experience the neck angle can also be questionable.

They do do "the job" and are very loud, which means, I guess, lightly built but they are cheap guitars, and so one cannot expect the sort of finish/assembly / cosmetic wood quality that you would on a more appropriately priced instrument.

I sold both of mine at a loss.

Try Eastman for budget archtops.
