Spectacular looking!
I am quite intrigued by this innovation from Ben, I hope to be able to try one of these guitars one day.

Looking forward to the complete piece!

Sounds great! Cool guitar. He’s right, there’s something classic going on in the spanky bits. Something you can bang on and it doesn’t protest. I pick up my electrics now...

Fantastic, John! I really liked that funky blues thing he did. I love that little smile Ben gets when an instrument really grabs him. It shows here, big time!

Is your ziricote trim from my ziricote set? That would be really cool!

Fantastic guitar in every way. Hope you get great pleasure from it if you manage to prize it out of Ben's hands!

Well that did not suck! Fantastic sounds, the intonation is just perfect on that high end!

I have the exact sister set of that EIR on an X-braced guitar and I can tell you that there is something special about that set!

Congrats Ben and John. Can't wait to get my hands on this one, John has promised to bring it to B.I.G. this fall!

Congrats and kudos, John and Ben.

What a stunning guitar and a tonal monster!

Quite the first commission--may it bring you decades of playing enjoyment.

Smile Yikes!!!

What better way to start the day than TWO of Ben's NGD videos!

This axe is a MONSTER! And Ben has the chops to show it off, too. Extra nice funk improv!

Congratulations and Enjoy

Paul

I guess I’ve never seen the panoramic view of Ben’s shop, but seriously, how nice is the floor? It’s restful on the eyes...it’s elegant like that cloth...it’s easy to find pearl pieces that fall on the floor...etc.
I dunno, maybe I’ve been inhaling too many lacquer fumes today, but Ben’s floor really floors me.
Thank you Steve! I am very proud of my blue floor. Not many people notice, I expect. However, the same holds true for this floor as others- if you drop a piece of pearl on it, that pearl is gone FOR EVER, never to be seen again, and perhaps heard only as a faint click in the shopvac tube some day. But the floor is 1 1/8 plywood that I laid on top of my crummy cracked garage slab, and when I drop a chisel on it (frequently, I'm afraid) it isn't totally destroyed, and that is nice.

It isn't from the same set, I'm afraid, but maybe from the same forest.

The little hole under the fingerboard extension area is for a fastener that holds the fingerboard extension down firmly against the top. There is a threaded
t-nut embedded in the underside of the neck, and the neck block has an extension so that the bolt goes through a significant structure, not just the top alone. It makes for a very secure attachment along with another bolt and nut embedded in the heel mortise.

The orange thing is an earplug- a perfect way to stop lacquer from intruding.
