Need advice for a new/used acoustic
Long time electric player (primarily Gibson Historics): love the bigger necks and shorter scale.
Anyway, getting ready to dive into the acoustic world. I have played everything at the local GC (only store near me); I really liked the 000-28, J45/50, and D35 (I know it's a longer scale). I really like the warmer/fuller tones; I didn't care for any of the Taylor offeriings. I'm not tied to Martin/Gibson; would like to hear more about Eastman, Breedlove, Guild, etc. I'm a strummer and looking for vocal accompaniment; I prefer a larger neck. What acoustics have 1 11/16 nuts, short scales, and cost less than $2000? |

A Gibson J45-TV is about $2,000 used. I am a strummer who sings. I love mine. It is short scale and 1 .72 neck (in between 1 11/16 and 1 3/4)
I think you should also look at the Martin D15m for about $1,000 new, and the Martin D-35 - about $2,000 new. Those also both have great necks, are 1 11/16ths, but long scale.

If you like warm, I recommend gravitating toward Martin. Otherwise, once you discover certain models and brands you like be sure to investigate used instruments before you pull the trigger. You'll can get more bang for your buck and some great deals can be had on Craigslist, etc.

I love my J45 for a singer songwriter setting but the other guitars you listed are worthy too so pick the one that inspires you. Good luck
