The first two UK studio albums (Please Please Me/With the Beatles) and Live at the BBC - all the raw infectious energy of the late Cavern Club shows captured for posterity, sadly never to be repeated again in recorded (and rarely in live) form; if you were a young musician (on either side of the Atlantic) in 1963-64 as I was, these (or their Capitol USA counterparts) were your how-to guide to what a rock band should be - and for my former students (whose knowledge of the Beatles was based almost exclusively on the post-Pepper period) they were required listening...

For me it’s the White Album. It’s the variety and quality of the songwriting and performances. It’s also got the heaviest stuff they ever did. Helter Skelter is awesome and Yer Blues is proto-metal.

I can't pick a favorite. Would be a tie for let it be, white, and Abbey road.
I think all there albums are great, not many bands I can listen to every album all the way through without skipping a song |

Rubber Soul. For me it marked the transition from the early to the later Beatles. With some exceptions I prefer their earlier work to the experimental "pieces" they did later on, often in fragmented bits that had to be cobbled together by George Martin.

Same. "Rubber Soul" has always been my #1, but over the last 5-6 years, they've been essentially tied.

If I could only choose one, it would be Rubber Soul...
But then I would miss A Hard Day's Night, Beatles For Sale and Abbey Road (in that order) a whole lot! |

Love'em all. But I'd say my favorite is Beatles For Sale. I think it was 1967. No Reply could be my favorite Beatles song.

For me it has to be Abbey Road, especially side two. The way the songs are arranged to blend from one to the next is pure art. I also love the lyrics at the finish of The End. " And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make." I'm sure some would dismiss it as a hippie pipe dream but it's actually words to try and live by. As a matter of fact I like them so much I put them on my signature below. Also The Beatles 1962-1966 has some of my favorites
Hide Your Love Away, Norwegian Wood, In My Life,
