Default Jeff Beck passed away.

Jeff Beck has passed away - early reports are saying 'sudden bacterial meningitis' but that has not been confirmed.

Amazing, incredible guitarist.

Sitting (dozing) watching 10 p.m. news . Heard Jeff's name on TV.

I saw him frequently at Eel Pie Island as the Tridents, and later with the Yardbirds.

Rock on Jeff

Though he wasn't a guitarist I actively followed back in the day, I knew him mainly through his contributions to the Yardbirds. Plus, his name and his influence on other guitarists were well known to me. RIP and thanks for the music, Mr. Beck.

Another influence gone. I did not see this coming.

I wasn't a fan until Blow by Blow came out, and then I was all in.
What a singular approach - and without a pick!!!

"I play the way I do because it allows me to come up with the sickest sounds possible. That's the point now isn't it?" - Jeff Beck

A HUGE loss to the community. He was a man who walked his own path.

Rest in Peace, Jeff.

Just seen this on the BBC news. Awful.
I saw him many, many times, including the Ronnie Scotts stints.
My wife described him as, “the most expressive musician I’ve ever seen”, after his Royal Festival Hall concerts many years ago. She hit the nail on the head.
Irreplaceable, but his music will live on and on. An inspiration to musicians everywhere.

Cheers,
Steve
