Default New member intro

Hi all,

I'm a new member to the forum from San Diego. I'm a Uke player looking to try my hand at guitar.

I want a solid-wood build, 12 fret, parlor size so that it's easier to transition back and forth between the Uke. My budget is fixed at a max of $1000.

I have narrowed it down to 3 options with the help of some of the members at LeftyFrets.net who had some great suggestions. I wanted to put it out to the larger group here as well for some additional input.

Current choices are:

1. Pono Parlor 'Uku Li'i Small Body, UL-30 Spruce/Rosewood

2. Pono Parlor Li'i Small Body, L-20 Spruce/Mahogany

3. Eastman E20P, Spruce/Rosewood

Any and all input greatly appreciated.

I would suggest a used Larrivee parlor. They can be found on several forums and are great for what you have in mind. You might also consider a used 00, although they might be harder to find.

Thanks for the welcome.

Anything within the lines you carry that is a good fit and value for what I'm looking for and available in lefty?

Thanks. I found this one, which looks quite nice. Is there a rule of thumb when it comes to pricing of a used guitar, aside from good ol'common sense?

Default welcome

Welcome to the amazing AGF!!
Great people and great guitar info.

Lived in North County for 20 years before coming back to Hawaii.
Played uke (tenor and baritone). Played a lot @ Neiman's in Carlsbad. (Is Neiman's still there?)

Pono is your best choice for a guitar. Excellent build, sound worth 5x the price.

Welcome!!

Welcome to the forum. I like the looks and sound of that Eastman based on what I've seen online. Also the Blueridge BR-371. Check Maury's Music (a sponsor here) as I think he carries either the Eastman or Blueridge).
