New Case Day
Just a basic Hiscox, but my back thanks me. I realized that this guitar was getting less play because I was tired of lugging the Geib style.
Off to a gig!

My Lowden has one of those Hiscox cases. It doesn't see it very often but a well built case.
How was the gig? |

Gig went great; I get to see folk I grew up with. My home town, though I haven't lived here year round since 1960.
I was tuning up backstage and looked up to see a cousin who showed up to surprise me! And my picture don’t have me holding up a number for a change.

Congrats! I used to own two but don’t travel much now. They are great cases and flight worthy. [emoji106]

Would have loved to hear/see the gig Jimmy.
I got a basic hiscox for my 000-28. Love it. What do you use for your J50 |

The J 50 lives in an older Hiscox. I love the weight and balance. When I was younger, I wanted all my guitars to be in multi-ply hardshells like Archcrafts. Now, I’d wish for Hiscox.

Seriously. I keep wondering what's the downside. Less able to withstand nuclear holocaust?

Good question.
Quote:
Guitarists of a certain age think that Martins belong in multi-ply archtop cases with 6 latches that can also serve as boat anchors? The one weak link of the Hiscox appears to be the latches. But I’ve had my J 50 in a Hiscox for a long time. It’s been gatechecked with no issues.
