Default SOLD: Custom Lowden F-35c, fingerstyle neck, all fiddleback

You probably haven’t seen one of these before! This is a custom Lowden F-35c with fiddleback mahogany back, sides and top.

Lowden makes these all-fiddleback guitars in its S model as part of its standard lineup. This was a custom order. It’s a F model, with full scale (650mm), Lowden's mid-sized body and Lowden’s fingerstyle neck (45mm at the nut, 60mm at the saddle).

It sounds amazing. It has the bell-like clarity and sustain you’d expect on a Lowden with a slightly woodier tone.

The guitar is in like-new condition. I’ve logged about five hours on it since buying it in October 2017 from Down Home Guitars.

The pics are from Down Home Guitars. I’d be happy to supply additional ones to interested parties.

Standard Lowden Hiscox case included. New lower price: SOLD!

Wow......………….. But I am curious, why have you played it so little?

Good question. The short answer is that I don't play that much anymore. When I do, I tend to reach for my Lowden F-50c. It's hands-down my favorite and if I manage to find 15-30 minutes, it's what I play.

I'm sure there are a bunch of folks here on the forum who find themselves in a similar situation as me -- a couple kids (4 and 6), a full-time job and a wife who I don't get to see as often as I'd like. It's tough to find time for guitar these days.

My plan is to thin down my collection to a couple guitars -- the Lowden F-50c and O-50c -- and an amp, and spend the money I generate on a trip to Disney for the family this fall and making a couple upgrades around the house. I'll likely put the Beneteau baritone up for sale in a few weeks, as well as a few other odds and ends I've collected over the years.

BTW, Transylvania, you've posted several temping guitars over the years. And you've got a pretty nice collection these days too!

That makes perfect sense. I can also relate to lack of playing time, and I don't have small children. I find this Lowden to be a really unique offering--the airiness and sparkle of a well-made Irish guitar paired with all mahogany. And it's a visual stunner as well.

Somebody buy this so I can stop thinking about it!

Thanks for the comments, dennyman and sakar12.

I don't have anything prepared but will aim to record something with my iPhone. Always a bit of a challenge to find some quiet time with a 4 and 6-year-old running around the house. That said, I'd be happy to do a Skype session with the guitar for anyone who's interested. Might be a bit easier to pull off.

Drop me a line if you'd like to try setting something up. In the meantime, I'll try to sneak down to the basement and record something.

What part of Chicago are you in? Is this still lush and full of overtones like most Lowdens?

Someone needs to buy this guitar. I have the same one in the S model. It's heavenly. It's hard to put into words. I'm sure the F size is just as magical.

Thanks, palsed. Really appreciate the kind words.

Mr.Woody, it's been a few years since I lived in Chicago proper. I'm in the western 'burbs these days. You or anyone else in the area is welcome to stop by and try it out in person.

I have the Lowden Old Lady and it is a great guitar. I can see why you would want to trade for one.

Now if your special F here had a spruce top I would definitely be interested in a purchase. Beautiful guitar, but I am covered in the all-mahogany bodied category.

Best of luck with the sale.
