Default Very nice 1967 Gibson LG-0 on Craigslist

$750 OBO. Nice full description, thirteen excellent photos.

https://fortmyers.craigslist.org/lee...889451757.html

This one's all-mahogany. Real mahogany. Look at the photos.

It's 8 miles away. I am tempted to go and play it to see how it feels and sounds.

That looks like my old one! Sold it on the east coast of Fl.

I had a rosewood bridge put on to match the rosewood fretboard.

I would never remember the S/N...sold it in 1980 or 81.

$75 as I recall.

I would say OUCH but I hated that guitar

YMMV

Some of those can be really really sweet. Go try it out and see if you fall in love.

$750.00 seems high to me, given that it's obviously been completely refinished and the headstock shape altered. When they refinished, they removed the serial number...that would give me some caution.

The headstock shape is like a paddle--that's really odd. The ones I remember were the open book shape--some were smaller, like the Melody Maker headstocks, but they were all book shaped.

Headstock is alarming but if it plays nice go for it. I would point out these observations we have brought to attention and get the standard CL haggle discount.

Default Go for it

I’ve got a ‘58 that’s really sweet. These are low end Gibsons that are not very collectible so mods like the headstock are not a dealbreaker. Go play it. They’re great for blues. Mine is dry, clear and sweet. Not a versatile, all around guitar but really fun for what they are. The listing says “$750 obo” so there’s probably some room for negotiations. Make sure the truss rod works. Have fun.

I am still trying to wrap my head around the statement that LG-0s were basically "floor sweep" guitars. Lawdy have mercy. 1967 though would be a better year for these than many. Gibson had gotten over whatever had possessed them to throw hollow plastic bridges and soft spruce bridge plates on the model and returned to rosewood bridges, albeit with ADJ saddles. Still, far better than what you ran into between 1962 and 1965.
