Thanks Jim and Doug. It sounds like the doerr ought to be a more focused sounding guitsr than tbe nightingale from its dimensions.

Here's a Legacy and Nightingale side-by-side ( I think the difference in scale length makes the Nightengale look even a little larger here than you'd think from the dimensions):

Everything about your guitar screams "AWESOME".

Given your love of Circa guitars and your past reviews, I am looking forward to your review of this baby!!!

I appreciate the interest in my new Doerr among those who have been following this thread.

As I mention in my guitar reviews at this page of my website, I don’t like to make a hasty or cursory evaluation of an instrument, but prefer to wait until, with regular playing, its voice starts to come into its own and I have become more familiar with its distinct and unique tonal qualities. Then I can be more accurate, detailed and comprehensive in my assessments.

However, for those who are curious about my first impressions...

When it comes to Tone, I am extremely restless and hard to please, constantly dissatisfied at the slightest imperfections, even in the best guitars in the world, and even though I'd set for Tom an almost impossibly high sonic goal for this instrument, so high that I was already at peace with the likelihood we would fall short of that goal, with this guitar I am.....

surprisingly.....

incredibly...

gratefully...

Satisfied.

So nice to hear these initial impressions, Jim! I think your overall reviews (from your web site) are incredibly thoughtful and well done. These early impressions of the Legacy match a lot of my own feeling when I pick up mine. It gets the most play of all my guitars and remains a visual and tonal marvel!
Thanks for the early clues on what your ultimate review might look like!!
Best wishes,
Free
