Default Long time member long time no post

Hey everyone,
its been a while since i've been active here. Life got a hold of me and no time for much besides work and work... Last year I fell down some stairs at my real job which resulted in a slipped disc and 11 months dealing with all sorts of ways to avoid surgery. Long story short, I didn't avoid anything. Had lower back surgery last friday and here I am stuck at home not able to do much.

Due to this injury building guitars became nearly impossible because of the size and I can't lean forward at all... so I decided to give the Ukulele a try. And the rest is history. I wanted to share with you guys what I have been up to in terms of building. Hopefully I will be more active and able to contribute a bit more to this amazing community...

Nice to see you posting again - I remember our conversation years ago regarding the road trip guitar!

Hope you can get back to building the big ones soon, until then, that uke is pretty spectacular!

Thanks guys! Yes, guitars are on the radar. I've been using this time to design a new model. Something small and intimate. but not for a few months.

Best wishes with the health!

I'm not a fan of sound ports, but that one's pretty enough to change my mind

I always admired the design elements you worked into your guitars and you haven't missed a beat with your uke design. Stunning.

Sorry to hear that you hit a speed bump, but glad to see you active on here and building again.

Austin

All the best for your recovery to the OP. I must say those are some of the nicest looking and fitted out ukeleles I have ever seen. If that is what being sidelined by injury looks like, I cannot wait to see the guitars that will come our of your shop when you are 100 per cent again!
