Want To Buy: OM Type with 1 11/16th Nut Width

Looking for an OM guitar with a 1 11/16th" Nut Width, something around the $2K mark. PM with info and price.

Martin's 15 and 16 series 000's are OM scale (25.5) with the 1 11/16 nut and can be found for half your budget, but can absolutely hang with anything twice the price.

I've searched high and low and there is VERY little out there in the OM world with the narrower nut in and around that price $2000ish range.

The best one from my lookings and I've owned a few are Bedells. Their Orchestra Model is 25.5 scale and 1 11/16 nut (save for the newer Nashville model) and pretty much the standard OM shape and size you're used to. It fits the bill and they are insanely high quality and should be able to find a few wood combos in or around your price range for sure.

Much to my chagrin, my Martin J-40 has the 1 11/16s-
Find a used one of these reimagined, but my guess is that you can find one in your range.

Not to hijack a sale, but you may want to look at a new Eastman e20-om (rw) or e10-om (hog). They list it as 1 3/4 but I can tell you 1st hand they feel like what you are looking for.

I was in the same position, looking for an OM with the smaller nut (43mm/1 11/16). after about 7 montha of looking, I was about to order a Custom Furch OM (there is no up charge for the smaller nut) a forum member pointed me in the direction of a used
MJ Franks OM with a 1 11/16th nut. I wound up with an amazing guitar at an amazing price. so just keep looking. they are out there

You need to be careful with this. Reports are all over the board in the actual width, could be inconsistent hand finishing, and I believe it impacts older guitars more often than newer ones. My 2011 e10om is indeed 1 11/16 though.

Check out the Bedell 1964 models. Beautiful no doubt, but play and sound fantastic as well. Message me for some more info regarding a lead I have on one. Not trying to sell you mine; I don't have one. But I know of one that is being sold for a stupid good price.

Blueridge BR-143 (mahogany) or 163 (rosewood) or 183 (rosewood with additional abalone) are all OM's with the narrower nut width.

Thanks for the rec's. Yeah I've tried a few Eastman's and Blueridge, wasn't that impressed to be honest. I know the budget is kind of restricted.

I'm in the Woodbury-ish area of the the TC.

I think the Yamaha AC5R is a smaller nut.

You may also consider a Martin 000-MMV, which was a Guitar Center exclusive that has the long scale/narrow nut configuration. I just bought one—plays great but the rosewood back and sides make it a bright sounding guitar!
