Gibson J-185 Maple
This is high on my wish list. I would prefer maple back and sides. In very good condition with no repairs needed, no cracks, no loose braces, straight neck, humidified if needed, and either sunburst or natural. PM me with questions or if you have one that you would like to let out of your stable.
I have a Breedlove 12 string, spruce face, awesome myrtlewood back and sides with great tone acoustically or plugged in. Comes with Breedlove hard shell case. Gold tuners replaced the chrome ones. In excellent condition, nearly mint. $900 trade value. Thanks for considering........... Last edited by hotroad; 09-22-2020 at 12:26 PM. |

Thanks for the tip. I just checked umgf and sure enough, its a nice one, almost new and custom with a couple of nice changes from the basic one which is not basic at all. The seller has his music available there on his site and he is an interesting blues guy. I like his music. Very creative and free.

The custom J-185 that come out of Bozeman are something special.
Best of luck in year search.

There is also a very interesting maple Advanced Jumbo at Telluride Music. Way overpriced at $3K though. A short run of 65 ... I helped someone track down a new one a couple years ago, he paid $2650. Good luck with your search. |

Is this one, the one at Telluride, that much better than a regular J45 Jumbo or similar. If so, how? Does that really make a difference in the tone of the guitar or just the price?
Thanks |

All I know about the maple AJ comes from youtube clips. Seems louder and crisper than a J45.
