Very nice Mark, now You'll have to compose a song (like the New Riders did for the Glendale Train robbery)

Thanks, I do sweat every detail and I actually enjoy finding previously unknown details to add to my list of things to sweat about.

Trains have been an icon in our society for a very long time. I hope the future owner of this guitar will be inspired to play the first train song on this guitar.

I’m loving the coco you are using on the back. I’m glad I climbed aboard.

Thanks NTS, I’m glad you’re enjoying the ride!
I hit a bit of a bump getting pictures posted this week.
Our power went out for a couple hours and when it killed our computer modem. We’re waiting for a replacement to get back up again and this is interfering with me being able to post in the meantime.

Looking great Mark.

This one reminds me of my old friend Richard Glick who passed away several years ago. He ran Fine Guitar Consultants in San Diego. I think that was before your time in luthiery. Anyway Richard loved a story to go with a guitar and would have "ate this one up." Richard was not everyone's cup of tea so to speak but I got along great with him. It's too bad we didn't get to work together more. Once again nice work and I love the theme.

Thanks John, I didn’t personally know Richard Glock though my years in lutherie started over 20 years ago going full-time over 10 years ago.

I enjoy building a guitar with a story. Whether it is a commemorative guitar or a lullaby guitar a theme adds a little something to the instrument and can help build the bond the artist has with their guitar.

Default Number 13

I have the neck all roughed out and have added a gold mother of pearl fretboard inlay:

The Shasta Special was number 13 so I think this works well. I mentioned earlier that this is a 13 fret to the body guitar. The inlay is on the 13th fret and will also serve as an easy reminder you are playing a 13 fret guitar.
