![]() Possibly. And it may have been that size. This was 4-5 years ago, I think. A lovely sounding and well playing guitar. I recall they were asking $2,500 for it. I don’t usually notice the beautiful wood grains because I only care about the sound and feel. |

David—shame? What shame? Those guitars are totally cool! Thanks for sharing those. The Tracy Byrd guitar is perfect. But the sonic description of the welder’s guitar made me laugh. Thanks mate!

Love the look and description of the OM-D. Probably right in my sweet spot. Very cool. Welcome to the forum!

I'm enjoying the kind comments so far!
Here are some favorites from my archive. Daddy Stovepipe's Grand Concert, who says it is in his "top 5". ![]() Built two harp mandolins before I regained my sanity. ![]() Courtney's Jumbo guitar, a local singer-songwriter who has a very active venue at her barn. ![]() ![]() Matt from Brown Chicken Brown Cow String Band who has played this L00 for a lot of years. ![]()

"The tone of a woman screaming". I'm pretty sure that's a first as a tone description! I am dying laughing over here!

That upper guitar's sides - are they Sycamore? Then, what is the back? Looks like 2 different woods.

One of the bands I play in is considering learning Hungry Like The Wolf, the '80s hit from DuranDuran. I was very surprised to discover that all the YouTube versions I can find have the uh, "guitar tone" edited out! Political correctness?
Anyway, welcome, from a fellow newbie. (I haven't posted any photos yet.) Your guitars do evoke Tejas to me. Do you use J bracing? Regarding the first guitar in your sig, I think you had the steps out of sequence. You're not supposed to torrify the whole guitar like a paint-after-fabrication step, you're supposed to sauté only a few select ingredients before making the rest of the sauce. And I noticed that spellcheck changed "torrify" to "terrify." Was the algorithm written by a luthier?

My top bracing pattern. Note the upper two angled braces, each a single piece butting into the X brace and the neck block, arched over by the #1 cross brace. This eliminates, in my experience, any top-upper-bout problems.

This is an L-0 of Cuban Mahogany & Red Spruce. It is my more simple style and thus my least expensive.
