After bonding with the Webber 00 for a couple years now, I quite agree. I think Dave's guitars are unicorns. Very beautiful looking and sounding, and, even now, they continue to fly mostly under the radar. My koa build is stunning, and cost less than what some builders charge for the koa stock upgrade. I have guitars with fancy names. And the Webber goes toe to toe with any of them. It is the best money I have ever spent on a guitar. Not that I stopped spending....
Ian, I am looking forward to images of your completed build, and your thoughts.

Very impressive, I love the staggered back strip, shows the figuring really well and the proportions are spot on to my eye. I have a model M as well, a fantastic and very versitile guitar. Mine is lutz/braz. combo, will be ineterested in the tonal difference with the maple. Congrats!

Thank you for your comments, nice to hear from a current M Model owner. I had some original concerns with the placement and number of the breaks in the Back Strip, yet Marc really came up with an excellent layout for the wood I had provided. I thought of Lutz for this build, but felt the Sitka was a better colour match to the Maple. That and the fact Marc felt he could easily get to my tonal goals with his Sitka, sealed this selection for me.

It’s nice to hear that you find your M to be versatile, as this is a major goal for this build. I find my playing style is mainly flatpicking and strumming but I also have been doing more fingerstyle as well in these last years. Marc directed me to the M once we starting discussing my preferences and he heard me play. I should be able to play his Sitka/BRW M guitar back-to-back with my build, it will be interesting to hear the similarities and differences.

I love Marc’s guitars (taking delivery of another one soon in fact) and I really like maple guitars. I’m dying to know how this one sounds when it’s all said and done. Congrats!
