Default Martin DSS 17 question

When I bought my DSS 17 it came with medium retros, and that was what was recommended by Martin for this guitar.
Now I am seeing on the Martin sight that they are recommending retro lights.
What has changed?
With the light build, are they having some problems with the mediums?
Wondering if I should switch to lights.

Thanks

Bill

Bill...I have one too and noticed the same thing. I think you're fine with medium gauge strings if that's what you prefer. I put a set of light gauge D'Addario (EJ-16's) on mine and it is a little more bright but plenty loud! I may switch back to the medium Retro's? But I believe you're fine either way? Might take a slight truss rod adjustment for the light gauge...

I like the medium/light LJ , 56 to 13 Retro . I bet they would rock on the DSS17!
