Furthur was better musically than Dead Co. With Joe Russo on drums, John Kadlecik On Guitar, Jeff Chimenti on keys, Bobby, Phil, and two added singers, they had more pizzazz. I saw Dead Co this Summer. I love Oteil. The Jumbotron closeups created Mayer and Co.

Bob Weir has a handmade luthier built guitar from India (Bigfoot Guitars).

I had a chance to commission a Modified Dread from the same builder and am very pleased! My build thread if interested:

I have always preferred Phil's incarnations to Weir's just based on tempo alone. Furthur had better tempos because of Phil and Russo. That said, I still enjoy D&C and had a good time at a show this summer. Phil and Mayer played together back in 2015 and I'd love to see a run of Phil and Friends with Mayer at some point.
