Default Pet Peeve, "...in the shade."

Ok it's crazy hot in Northern California today, 102 at my house, which isn't normal at all. So I texted my dad to commiserate, and he said it was 98 "in the shade" at his house.

My dad is one of the smarter dudes I've ever known. Hey Dad! Temperature is always measured in the shade. I gotta think he knows that?

Anyway, always been a pet peeve. You?

The hottest place I know is on the wooden storehouse I've built on the piece of land I rent to grow our fruit and veg.

So for me the temperature measurement is .... in the shed! TA DA!

Not a pet peeve, but it was 102 here in Sebastopol, CA yesterday, and hit 97 today. That's really hot for this area, as we're not far from the coast, and hotter temperatures in general have been the trend over the last few years. There's a bank with a sign in the center of town that showed 108 yesterday. It's not in the shade...

99 in San Francisco apparently. Yikes! Inland, sure it gets very hot. But S.F.? Wow.

My peeve is the measurement of official temperature at the airport which is out in the middle of nowhere many miles from downtown. There can be up to a 10 degree difference between the airport and where people actually live.

So.

I hate it when people start a sentence with the word "so".

Here in Southern Illinois the high is going to be 78 today. The low tonight will be 50.

Perfect.

102 degrees Fahrenheit is hot? It is supposed to be 109 degrees today in the Phoenix, AZ area. It's just starting to warm up for the summer. Come August we'll think 102 is just balmy.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say 102 is hot. 😂

So, if you can't fry an egg on the sidewalk it's not even worth going outside. Did I say 'So'?

I hate that the news tells me the temperature in the city and not in rural outskirts where I actually live.
