Gotoh uses the 510 moniker for their top of the line models, but I see a die cast baseplate on those open back 510's. I use the formed steel baseplate model (SE 700). Less than $60, and no QC issues.

That photo is not the butter bean I am familiar with. While the photo may cloud the issue, you cannot ignore the historical context. In my experience, the term was definitive until the Martin ad was published.
