2005 Baranik JX in pretty much as new condition other than some fret wear - the only sign it's been used. Cedar Creek Case.

This is an extraordinary guitar: Bear Claw spruce over highly figured ziricote sides and back. Very balanced, rich and resonant. Since Mike Baranik is focused on building electric guitars his acoustic guitars are becoming scarcer. It's now $12,000 for a new Meridian (the modern version of the JX) and a two-year wait. This one is fitted with a K&K Trinity Pro pickup with mic/undersaddle and undersaddle transducers. It includes the external equalizer and stereo cable.

1 3/4" nut with 1 1/2" string spacing
2 1/4" string spacing at the saddle.

I purchased the guitar because I had heard nothing but good things about Baranik since my guitar teacher, Dorian Michael, told me he played one; that was 15 years ago. In addition, Baranik guitars is local to me in San Luis Obispo, CA so I thought it would be cool to have one of his guitars.

My wife expressed the rich sound of this guitar. I was playing a Martin then the Baranik. She said: "the Martin sounds great for a solo instrument. The Baranik sounds like 3 guitars playing."

I am the previous owner of this guitar. I've sold a lot of high-end guitars over the last fifty odd years, several that cost a good deal more than this one. I've always said that no one guitar does everything perfectly, but this Baranick does more things more beautifully than any other instrument that's passed through my hands - all the way from airy, delicate Celtic fingerstyle melodies to driving bass lines with a flatpick. And it's an absolute joy to play everywhere up and down the fretboard. Another plus - Tom is a great guy and a joy to do business with. Whoever ends up with this one won't be disappointed. Highly recommended!
