Default Praying For The Rain

Some of you might recall this song I have posted in the past and got feedback on from you fine ladies and gentlemen. Here's a new recording for an album I am making called Repentance.

I used my new Warm Audio WA87 for vocals - keen to hear if it sounds good to you?

Nice job, Neil......
As I recall, your original was with that fast strum.....yes?

I think this treatment with picking/light strum suits the song really well and brings both lyrics and melody together in a nice package.
Best wishes,
Fred

Thank you Fred. Yes, I previously sang this with a fast fingerpicking pattern, have been practicing this new approach for a while and seems to go down well at open mics.

I liked that!

I think the vocal track with that mic is nice, well defined, and very clear sounding.

nice job.

Hi Neil,

Yes, the WA-87 sounds good! But it's not just the microphone. You are improving as a player and a singer through repeated playing and effort. I hear clear improvement.

You sound good!

- Glenn

Neil that’s night and day to the first time I heard this song. The development is extraordinary. I love it.

The accompaniment makes all the difference in the world. It is very, very good playing and you should be very proud of the song overall - it’s accomplished song-writing, playing and singing. Again, well done.

Ps the vocal and overall mix is great.

Thanks Glenn, that means a lot to me. Have been making a conscious effort to improve my singing and arrangements.

Coler, that is extremely nice of you, thank you. I’ll also be sure to pass your comments about the mix to my friend Angus Gibson who is mixing and mastering the album (for free, top bloke!).
