Neck Wood Selection
I've selected out the wood for the neck:
I'll be setting up the neck this week with a Snakewood center laminate inside Leopardwood. As you can see I'm sticking with a look here. Happy New Year! M

The Neck
Here is the Leopardwood neck with all the laminates being glued together:
Here I am setting for the 2 way full titanium truss rod: The reason my Green Mountain series guitars are upgraded to titanium truss rods is they are about 40% lighter than comparable steel truss rods. Thanks for following! Mark

Fretboard
I haven't posted on this guitar for a bit. I'm working away on the neck and have the Snakewood fretboard with Snakewood binding coming along. I'm putting green Turquoise side fret markers on. I'm getting the hang of working stone and green Turquoise will go great with this one:

Finish ready
I am just about done setting up the guitar for finish. Here are pictures of the guitar with the neck in place. The guitar is dry with nothing on it other than a buffed fretboard:
Wait until you see it with the finish on! Mark

Beautiful, I love the way you pull of these decorative guitars off with such taste, and I'm a big fan of your ability to design such a beautiful guitar. I'm also digging the Lie Nielson hand tools and their use. I'm a LN fan and user also, so seeing this thrills me. We'll have to talk tool use one day.
Looking good!.

That's quite a beauty, Mark!! Your artistic talent is definitely on display!
I can't wait to see this guitar under finish, as they say so often on AGF!!

Not only do they make great tools they are a leader in the new movement of contemporary hand tools that is booming in the wood working world. They fully support many smaller high quality tool makers. They even invite them to display at their many events. We all win supporting a company like Lie Nielsen. Here is my standard small print, "I am not a sponsor, nor do I receive any incentives from Lie Nielsen (or any other company) for my endorsements" So yeah I'd enjoy a tool talk with you. I like to talk tools (as you might be able to tell). In short the best guitars are made with real hand tools. That was true when steel string guitars began and is even more true today. Sound like marketing? Ask me to back that up! Quote:
