You funny! I would only add leaning mattresses up against the cases on the wall in case of earthquake or nuclear event.

This thread is making me paranoid about my Acoustic Remedy wall cases. I used the included drywall studs. The basic plastics ones that expand behind the drywall. If one of those cases go down it’d be a disaster!

EDIT after growing paranoia. ....taking the guitars out and finding studs.

Don't hang your guitars upon the wall...

Don't put them in stands in the hall...

If you don't want them broken into pieces small...

Don't remove them from their cases at all...

If I were to hang my precious on the wall (I never would) I wouldn't trust a butterfly on the drywall.
The screw would go deeply into the middle of a 2x4 wood stud behind the drywall.

ALBD, matey, if you are concerned I would take the time to replace the plastic drywall expanding studs with metal toggle bolts. Plastic degrades over time. Metal is more durable. I would choose a metal toggle bolt with solid spreaders for strength. I say it not to scare you but better safe now than sorry later. The plastic studs may not fail but if they do it will be too late.

I have said this before but I only take my guitar's out of their cases to play and then I put them back. Your case is much safer than a wall hanger.

I put a layer of Liquid Nails on the back of my Hercules hangers well as the holes and mounting screws.

I don't hang my guitars on a wall because, you know, gravity:

This makes the whole 12-fret vs 14-fret argument look petty...

But here's a neat idea:

Them lateral thinkers: screw the hanger to the guitar.

He's saying it probably isn't the fault of the maker of the guitar and if he named them, there'd be folks here who might shy away from buying that brand as a result. It would be like me saying, "Your _______ got stolen? Well I won't buy one of them now!"

I think he meant name the maker of the offending wall hsnger, not maker of the guitar. Any guitar would break when it falls off the wall except for those made of carbon fibre.

Re-reading the OP's post, did the wall hanger break or did it come loose of its, uh, moorings? If a guitar doesn't break when it falls to the ground I am so not buying that make; it is probably overbuilt or CF. I might buy a CF...

He said that?
Where did he post that?
On my computer this is the only post from the OP in this thread.
It doesn't say what you say it says.

Did (s)he delete a post?

I am contacting the manufacturer, and so far have no idea what to expect out of them. While I won't mention the brand name, I will say this:
IF you are using wall hangers, please inspect them on a regular basis if you value your instruments! or better yet, don't use them.

It looks like it could be interpreted both ways. Either he is contacting the manufacturer of the wall hanger because it failed, or, he is contacting the manufacturer of the guitar because it broke apart from a fall.
