It's pretty much a variation on the Line 6 G10 then, which is great. I have the G10 and love it but Line 6 have never listened to their customers and replaced the terrible, mini usb power supply, which is easy to snap. I am totally checking out the Boss, I just don't love how they have a version for active and passive pickups. I wish they would have just include a switch.

Probably something to do with how the transmitter and receiver charge up. Basically you plug both units into each other and then you can use a single USB charging cord. Otherwise, you can also charge them individually. Sweetwater specs say this:

When docked, its transmitter and receiver both charge with a standard USB adapter. You can also charge the transmitter separately via the included micro USB cable. The WL-20L requires a USB adapter of 5V/500 mA or greater.

Online specs say "up to 14 channels" so that's good!

I’m considering the Xvive system for my acoustic set up.
Is it appropriate for a P & W situation?
Does it work well?

Do you have an active pickup? If so, avoid the U2. I would wait for the Boss anyway, it's going to be a higher quality, more consistent product anyway. The U2 was not great IMO.

I have two guitars with passive pickups, and five with various active pickups.
My Yairi has a SYS500a.
When I plug it it seems to be the least “powerful” of the active systems.
What doesn’t it do with active systems?

I’m also considering going wireless with my in ear monitors.
Any suggestions on that front?
I have several sets of BT ear phones.
I’d just need a transmitter.

With the in ears, and the guitar cord I feel tied to the stage.

With active pickups, it creates interference and an assortment of unwanted noises. I am pretty sure Xvive have even confirmed this.

No suggestions for in ears. All I know is, for years I stayed away from wireless systems but these new Boss versions are making me completely rethink my set up. I used the Line 6 G10 with my mandolin for two shows this past week and it worked incredibly well. I have heard that the G10 can be somewhat picky with active pickups but I had no noises issues or drop outs. I also love how it goes to sleep when not being used for a while. One quick strum and it's back up and running.

I’m attending Summer NAMM. I hope to find out more about these systems there.

When they say they have an acoustic guitar version I think they just mean that it has no cable tone applied. I’ll be very surprised and impressed if it works with active pickups with no interference (my Xvive generates a slight whining when used with my VT Enhance).

I’ll also be going into a DI to the board. If that makes any difference?

I would be very, very surprised if Boss released a wireless system specifically for acoustic instruments that only worked with passive pickups. The Xvive seems to be somewhat unique in that regard.

Pricing $180-200 for each package with individual transmitter $100.

I wonder how they’ll handle rechargeable dead battery replacement in the long term.

Nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to gear!

I'm very interested in this... Look forward to seeing some early user reviews. Pre-orders in the UK are ~£155. Not terrible, if they work as advertised.
