Default Dogs Love Lowdens

My dog ignores me when I play guitar. Pays sporadic attention when I play mandolin. When I play my Lowden guitar, he sits down beside the chair and just listens, actually seems disappointed when I stop. I guess I would understand it if he was an Irish Setter but he's an Indiana mutt. He seems to recognize the Hiscox case, looks like the Martin case but when he sees the Hiscox, he takes up his position and doesn't leave till I'm through.

Smart dog, HHP.

My father's dog lays down next to me when I play guitar at his house. It's always my Simon & Patrick but I don't think the guitar brand matters.

Not that smart outside of music. He likes to eat goose poop. He did, however, catch a duck in mid-air once. He was really upset that I made him let it go.

Perhaps he's a bit deaf and the only guitar he can hear is a loud-en.

My dog usually leaves the room, and he's old and partly deaf, and a velcro dog to boot.

Yep...my dog is my most fervent fan. Except he likes Martins and Gibsons and tends to fall asleep when I’m playing.

It could be smelling the hand carved Lowden bone nut and saddle! Clever dog! (Don't leave it out on a stand.....)

My dog doesn't really like my playing as such, but taking photos of guitars is fantastically exciting. She just loves photos!

Really want a dog and really miss my Lowden, which is currently in another country.

I have been dogless the last couple of years. I played tons of guitar for my first Aussie mix, Jasmine. She would get into it, especially if I had a friend over. Howling and singing along. That was 11 years of canine song fare.

I waited a year then got another Aussie mix named Tippy. This one slept.

I am off for a bike ride now and I sure wish I had one of these aussies for the field ride. Herding dogs are so needy. I am reluctant (or selfish) to get another smart- busy one. But they have a huge place in my heart.

I do want to get a Lowden someday too. They seem less needy? Just general acoustic maintenance and let them rest in their case when my other self absorbed pursuits arise.
