I am a sucker for the batwing!

And I too love my Gibsons and Martins...

I went in a music store to buy a Martin and also ended up with a Gibson. I woke up the next morning with a tremendous hangover and exchanged the Gibson for a Martin!

Gibson definitely has their own distinct sound. It's weird how, no matter which model, Martins sounds like Martins, Gibsons sound like Gibsons, etc. I own a 2006 J45, and it is great, especially for folk music. Congrats on the new axe !

About a year ago, I thought I wanted a D-28, since it's such an icon. Went and played one, was not impressed. Nothing about it grabbed me. It was just a ....... guitar.

My friends D-28 is a nice sounding guitar but not a loud or clear or as lite as my J-45. He is now looking for a J-45 after playing mine.I don't know if they all sound this good but my J-45 Fantastic.

Default The Bottom Line - J45

Here's the bottom line - if you have to own one guitar in the world - it's the Gibson J-45. Hands down.

I've had a few in my life - and like an old girlfriend - there's one I'm sorry I got rid of.

There's nothing like a J45 - it does everything. If you want to own multiple guitars -great - buy the edge players - but I always come back to my J45.

Good Choice.

BTW - The only good Martin I've every played is the 00-28VS - the rest sound like "Esteban's".

Me too! Been there, done that. However, in my case it was a PRS exchanged for a Gibson.
