What are some good songs to strum that don't need singing?
There are a lot of good strumming songs, but I've found that a lot of them are just repeating the same verse over and over with maybe a bridge and it gets pretty repetitive to play.
My favorite songs to strum seem to be ones with a lot of different parts that people recognize. For example, Band on the Run by Paul McCartney fits the bill. Also the Rolling Stones' Angie is a good one. Any others you might recommend that might fit the bill? |

Embryonic Journey (JA) comes to mind if you're old enough to remember it.

Beatles "You've Got to Hide your Love Away", especially on a 12 string. But that progression, holding the G note on the high E string for all chords always makes any guitar sound great.

I sing but I play ''City of New Orleans'' with all strumming. There are so many chord changes that you can feel the song moving even with all strumming.
I have to say though that it sounds much better with my banjo playing buddy playing along. |

“Deal” by Jerry Garcia has a sweet progression and can be played as an shuffle. Sounds good strummed or with some added fills and runs.

Give a Little Bit by Supertramp is good one. Kind of similar to Night Moves with the turnaround chord.

This.
Do you mean any song that sounds good with JUST strumming? I have moved away from those and only choose ones with riffs, runs, bass notes, etc... Carter Style and Boom-Chuka come to mind. in that case- Sweet Virginia - Stones Wild World - Cat Stevens |
