I'm sure you're going to love this guitar, Stan! I was back east this week, helping my parents as my father has terminal cancer. And this morning, the healing thing I did for myself was pick up my Steve Kinnaird Redwood FS (IRW back and sides) and just played for a long time. Steve and Ryan know how to work with Redwood! The FS is such a great size and shape and the tone is warm and rich and wonderful and I can feel the guitar making music with me while I play. I felt like it was helping me clear out a difficult week.
And my FS is the guitar I often bring with me when I play for a contemplative service in the chapel at this large episcopal church I attend. Last night I made it home in time to catch the Jackson Browne benefit at my church. I told my husband (the huge Jackson Browne fan) that "I've played the same venue as Jackson Browne!" Admittedly, I play in the side chapel for under 20 people and he packed out the entire large main sanctuary which seats 500, but still... And my Steve Kinnaird FS and I have played the sanctuary once for a memorial- we sat where Jackson Browne did last night!  . I can't wait to hear your report! This is a beautiful guitar! beth

Stan, you don't have to wait that long for the video. Here it is! I'll apologize in advance for the soft focus. I can build guitars, but I have a hard time running a camera and getting everything right. But, you can hear the guitar, and that's the main thing. Steve plays a selection of three songs. First is Coventry Carol - a Christmas tune from the time of Shakespeare (if you're into that kind of thing). Second is a little of the pickin' standard Windy and Warm, and then a drop-D song called Gentle Touch that Steve wrote a few (more than a few?) years back. I hope you enjoy them. Beth, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. The process of losing a parent is such a horrible thing. I'll be thinking and praying for your comfort and peace.
Steve and Ryan - thank you for getting up the video (at my request) for me to enjoy during this last long weekend of waiting! It sounds as fine as I'd hoped - I particularly like the clarity of the mids: none of the muddiness I sometimes hear in cedar guitars. I don't think you set a foot wrong in this whole deal, from selecting the woods to . . . well, there was that dyed saddle and nut . . . but we fixed that! Making these Youtube videos is a good idea - Steve, you're a good guitarist and make a better impression than I would, for sure! Love the tunes you selected too - they show off the guitar's range.

She sounds dandy! Congrats Stan, enjoy the drive to Nacogdoches, there is a nice prize waiting. My step daughter has selected SFA for her college so, I hope to make plenty of trips to see Stev....I mean her in college!
BTW, it doesn't matter, but I liked the dyed saddle and nut. Tom

Thank you for the good thoughts and prayers, everyone. My Dad taught me my first guitar chords when I was 10. He's lived a good life and a long one. And it's not clear how many months he'll have.
And playing great guitars, made by good people such as Steve and Ryan and a lot of other craftsmen and women, is such a healing gift. I find that every time I pick up a great guitar, my soul feels better. So I'm looking forward to hearing Stan's thoughts on this latest, beautiful Redwood FS! beth
