Default PSA-Martin D

OK, here I am gassing about this...I'm not even looking for a new guitar, nor am I a huge fan of Martin (largely because I think they're overpriced), but this one is very tempting, and if I were actually in the market for a new ax I'd probably be all over this.

https://www.musiciansfriend.com/guit...#productDetail

All-solid Sitka over 'hog, faux tortoise binding, EIR fingerboard, mahogany neck (not stratobond), and comes with a HSC. Just a really nice price on a no-frills Martin.

The link worked for me. And, btw, that guitar sounded great!

$900 for an all solid tonewood Martin is a heck of a good deal. If you need a nice Martin with no frills bi=ut all the right stuff...go for it!

Got one a few months back for playing in our worship team. Other than the really light satin finish and no back binding its everything any high end Guitar has to offer. Its got a nice deep body too. The only thing that kind of bugs me about it is that there is no way to know its country of origin by looking in the guitar not that it should matter. I'm willing to bet these will be cleared out of inventory and never restocked with all the new MIM Martin's coming out in the same or higher price bracket. Grab one while its hot.

I really wish MF/GC would have a special Nazareth 000 like the 000-15 but with a spruce top and binding for around 1k. That would fly off the shelf too.

According to the blurb on MF, these are USA-made. Also, kind of a digression, but I think the first thing I would do would be to give the satin finish a light polish. I've done this on a couple satin finished guitars I've had & got very good results, especially with regard to handling noise. Also, they get a bit blotchy-looking with handling/playing wear after a few years. I use Meguires automotive polish...brings out a nice chatoyance in the wood that's covered up under satin finish.

This looks very similar to the specs on my 10 year old D-16GT, except for the all satin finish and rosewood fretboard and bridge. If this is anything like that guitar, it's a good guitar. I don't know about dealings with MF though; guitars aren't exactly "mail order friendly" items IME.
