Any guitar can be a great guitar for fingerstyle.

But if I could only have one it would be a dread with "Collings" written on the headstock.

Disagree. Some guitars don't have the response for the light and delicate stuff. There's a reason the dreadnought didn't render all other guitars obsolete.
