Default Eastman OM - any thoughts?

Hi all,
Yesterday, I ordered my first Eastman online without ever having played an Eastman. I'm hoping it will fill the OM void in my guitarsenal. I chose the sitka/rosewood E8OM. Does anyone have any thoughts on it or on Eastmans in general? I'm so looking forward to having this in my hands!
Thank you,
PB

Oddly enough...I ordered the E8OM-TC yesterday. I have a couple other Eastman guitars and I'll just say they're wonderful instruments and very affordable prices.

I've been looking at both the E8OM-TC and the E20OM-TC. Can't go wrong with either, I don't think. I have had a lot of adi-topped guitars lately, so maybe I go with the E8?

Loved to hear your thoughts when you get yours!

I have to agree with this. I owned two E6OM LTDs and the AC922CE, among several other larger Eastmans. They were all well made and beautiful, and their tone was fantastic. With that said, I was chasing the John Mayer tone, so I ended up with an OM-28.

I have been critical of Eastman...for various reasons.

I heard a video of an Eastman a few days ago that changed my mind, at least to the point where I'm considering buying an Eastman OM soon. I think it's mainly due to the price point...and the fact that I see/hear some real quality that belies the price of the instrument.

I'll just add that I believe the greatest return for your $ spent is with the Thermo-Cured (TC) models. Well worth the extra $ in my opinion.

No lack of AGF Eastman love.

I own an E2OM-CD, AC108CE-LTD as well as two mandolins (MD305 & MD314).

No regrets.

Just got a PCH-3 in maple laminate. Love it. Looks, sounds, and plays like her much more expensive stable mates. Eastman (and Breedlove, IMO) are real game changers. Those who can afford the expensive guitars will keep them strong, but for those who cant or wont, these open a whole new level of instruments at a new price point.

Guys who own these... how do you like the E-to-e string spacing on these Eastmans? I recall playing a couple a few years ago and things seemed very cramped. Almost like a 1 3/4 nut was closer to 1 11/16 in "felt" spacing.

Brendan...I haven't actually measured spacing at the nut as it hasn't been an obstacle. But it feels like a 1 3/4" spacing to me? I've never felt cramped playing one?

I had an E1SS-LTD briefly (ordered on line) - great sounding sloped shoulder dread (all solid) Adi top, Sapele B/S... The 1 11/16" nut did feel cramped.. so I returned it in exchange for a different model w/ 1 3/4 " which feels more familiar..

it's interesting... every builder is a little different.

My Bourgeois AT D-Vintage has the 1 3/4 nut 2 5/16 spacing neck. But the E-to-e spacing is 1.5" at the nut.

Meanwhile, my SCGC 1934D has a 1 3/4 nut 2 3/16 spacing neck, but the E-to-e spacing is 1.5625" at the nut.

So the Bourgeois neck is bigger, but the SC plays easier. Partly the build, but also the E-to-e spacing is wider, and your fingers (well...mine) can detect this minute difference.
