'06 KINNAIRD triple O beauty - EVEN LOWER PRICE
Arthritis does not allow me to properly play this any longer. I am the original owner and John made this for me exactly how I wanted it. New, it would be ~ $7000. But I decided to lower the price to $4550 - without even being asked! I must be a nice guy, huh?
John Bernunzio had this to say about it when he saw it: "With beautiful inlay work, this guitar is appointed in stunning fashion - with an incredible tone to boot. A not so often seen gorgeous Curly Ash neck, Ziricote back and sides, and an Adirondack Spruce top make for some jaw dropping tones out of this fine instrument. This instrument has a nice smooth and slightly darker sound, than a standard smaller body 000, which compliments it nicely - making it a very versatile guitar for finger style players, but also most strummers. These high quality woods really open up well when needed, and is a sign of a great build." We get a number of professional guitarists who visit here and it is a real favorite of theirs. I only fingerpick (no picks), but it will really bark if you use a flat pick. Upgrades: 1) Fabulous Ziricote B&S (often mistaken for Brazilian) 2) Adirondack top, exhibits lots of silking 3) Curly ash multi-piece neck w/carbon fibre reinforcement + truss rod 4) Abalone purfling, Celtic knot inlays on neck and intertwined Celtic Dog inlay on headstock 5) Actual Silver side dots w/Rosewood centers 6) Curly Ash bindings, end graft, and tailpiece cover. 7) Shaller tuners 8) Headstock & Backstock overlays of Ziricote 9) Ziricote pyramid bridge 10) Clear pickguard 11) Brand new Cedar Creek case Details: Lower bout - 15.5" Upper bout - 11" Waist - 9" Body length - 20.25. (overall, it is 40.125") Depth - 3.75" (upper bout), 4.5" (lower bout) Scale - 25.75" Nut - 1.75" Nitro finish Bolt-on neck 12 fret design with slothead Disclaimer: It has always been carefully humidified, with no smoking surroundings but there was once a thermal crack which has been repaired professionally. Invisible unless you manage to catch it in the right light, it doesn't photograph. Also in the same category is a slight 3" seam separation near the butt. This happened shortly after it was delivered; John asked me to keep an eye on it and, sure enough it never changed. He has seen it twice since and sees no reason for corrective action. I usually wipe it down after use and have played it well, but there is almost no fret wear and I have never adjusted the saddle(or anything else), but you will find some almost imperceptible swirls and marks from years of happy use. One spot on top (pictured) and a much smaller one on the side can be felt. Lastly, a strange green color appeared at the base of the fingerboard which can be seen in the photos. JK goodness
Outstanding instrument from a fantastic builder. John K works wonders in his 12 fret 000s. My first (used) axe from him opened my ears to what TONE was possible!
But buyer beware! Once you have one you will want another!!! I should know. JK and I are on our FIFTH custom build now... Best on this sale, and your arthritis as well! Paul

Is this John or Steve Kinnaird? Can't go wrong with either, but was curious.

John and his brother Steven run related but parallel luthiery businesses. John is in North Carolina and Steven in Texas. Both build at an extremely high level and I could not tell you which is "best". (Is an orange better than an apple?) I can tell you that I have been extraordinarily pleased with this guitar over the years. And no one could be better to work with than John has been.

Ever wonder why it is so rare to see one of John Kinnaird's guitars for sale? He's made plenty and by rights they ought to appear with some regularity - only those that have them tend to buy another rather than sell what they have. You can draw the obvious conclusion.
Or maybe I'll tell you later on.

Can't go wrong here. I am another JK devotee (I have two, including one 000 which I love, with a third coming soon). Good luck with the sale!

Did you notice the price has been dropped? That will happen from time to time until I reach what I'd net from Reverb or eBay. But it should not get to that point (one hopes). This as a highly unusual guitar, also a very good one.

Let's bump it a bit. If it got buried, I'd have to erect a gravestone.

I might even lower it again; you never know what I'll do.
