Default Fishman Aura & Effects Loop question

OK dumb question of the day.........

The Fishman Aura has a effect loop input.

So if I want to use a separate chorus pedal with it, would I plug the guitar into the Chorus pedal first, then take the Chorus output into the FX in on the Aura?
Does the guitar input on the Aura not get used? Do I need a special "Y" cable to go into both pedals from the guitar?

Basically what's the hookup chain?

There are two ways to do this. One, you could run into the chorus first and then the output of the chorus would go to the input of the Spectrum. Or, if you want to use the effects loop, you need a Y cable with a 1/4" TRS on one end, with the other end splitting into two 1/4" TR plugs. Something like this:

OK so if I go the Y cable route, what's the chain?

My guitar goes into the Spectrum, then I use the single Y cable out
of the Spectrum and one goes into the Chorus pedal and the other goes to the next destination? One patch chord comes out of the Chorus pedal and goes into the Spectrum's FX Loop in? Is that correct?

Here's a good explanation and visual:

The "exp" in the diagram would be the effects loop.

Not a dumb question at all! Think of amps that have two jacks, FX send, and FX return. They just combine the two into one TRS jack. So you will need some type of Y splitter, and you can chain together as many pedals as you like between those two ends. Someone can correct me if Im wrong, but i think
I saw a multi-effects pedal that had a TRS jack for the send-rec all in one trs cable.

Plug your guitar in and out as normal.

Plug one end of Y cable to Chorus IN, the other cable to Out.

Plug stereo plug of Y cable into the effects plug.

That is all.

(If you want 5 or 6 other effects pedals, put them in the order you want them, but put one end of the Y cable to the input of the first and the other end of Y cable to the OUT of the last......of course, little patch leads in the others!)

This is how I set up the Aura using the insert jack for an effects pedal using a 'Y' cable It's hit or miss to get the TS plug correct for 'In' and 'Out' of the effect (I got it wrong on the first try).
