Default NUGD PRS Core Singlecut

I picked up a beautiful 2006 PRS Singlecut in a trade for a good value and I am really enjoying this thing! I love the carve of the top. Fit and finish is flawless. And it’s a fantastic and durable feeling satin finish. I’ve had an SE but didn’t love the pickups and it was just meh. These pickups sound great to me!

I know some say PRS doesn’t have “a sound of its own” but I tend to think people are really saying it doesn’t sound like a Gibson or a fender. It appears I can make this thing sound like whatever I want. Way better sounding coil splitting than the Les Pauls I’ve heard, not that I really plan on using it in that form much.

The thing resonates like crazy and notes are pretty much endless!

I’m no good at the photo thing on here. I found an identical used one on the GC site. Obviously the link will go dead at some point...

Congrats! I used to have quilt top singlecut (pre-lawsuit). Loved the neck and the playability.

Sweet - Congrats Mitch! Looks like a fantastic guitar. I agree with you that PRS has a sound of its own. Do you know what pickups are in your PRS?

It has #6 pickups based on the paperwork. They have great clarity and a ton of bottom end. The neck pickup manages to stay out of muddy range but has plenty of beefiness!

Congrats

Yes I agree PRS guitars have a sound of their own as much as any guitar.
The fact that it may be different than a Fender or Gibson "sound" is a good thing. And not even remotely an issue or negative except fo possibly in the imagination of some . Because yes I agree that people have notions about sound based on familiarity.

Non the less you have an outstanding guitar, again congrats
