Beautiful. Good to have the moisture, but I hope the tree don’t get too damaged.

That's crazy - Richmond hit 97 Friday and broke a record for heat on that day. Today's supposed to be another record-setting day...

The cottonwoods down along the river and the aspens on the valley floor have leafed out. But not the aspens at my elevation or higher.

But the good news is that the snow has slid off the satellite dish and I can now watch the PGA tournament!

We're at 8400 feet but quite a ways south, an hour west of Pueblo.

This stuff is gonna come rushing out of the hills when it hits the upper 70s end of the week.

I don't have one of those fancy self cleaning dishes like Ken does

Metal roofs are no fun with snow on them be careful ( I hurt my back when the snow let go on my 4-12 pitch garage roof about 12 years ago )
That is one good thing about my Starlink dish it has a heating element.

That's great. Yes pretty significant up grade for us..We went from having to use a cell tower provider ( at $120 a month) which service was Ok but just ok with 8 to 15,maybe 18 Mbs (down) on a good day And 3 to 8 maybe 10 (up) but the service could get pretty slow when there was an increase in cell traffic at the tower. We also had to get 4 new sim cards and replace a router in the three years we had it.

(right now I am getting 83.2 down and 17.6 up)
We get a fairly wide variance from 40 to 60 (down) on the low end,,,, to upwards of 100 a good amount of time, to sometimes 150+ at times.. Then from 10 low end to 25 -35 up (All the variance I guess depending on the angle/distance to satellite and traffic on the bird itself ? )
And occasionally (maybe once or twice a month,, we will get a black out (no service and the app will say "Offline" ) from a few seconds to one time about 10 -15 minutes

It is amazingly easy to set up.
If you have a smart phone with a screen Get the Starlink App and it will tell you exactly where any obstructions might be in its visual tracking path. So you can know where your best location is ..
Then just orient it facing basically North to start with , hook up the cables and power up . It will auto track to find the nearest bird and done and you have internet. The app is also how you communicate with service if you need it.

It can really scare tourists, who are trying to plan their vacations.

Annnndddd, we got another 4" overnight! Up to 15" now.

Honestly, though, I'm happy about this. It was too dry, too early. I was really concerned about the possibility of a wildfire here in the valley.

I have tee times for Tuesday and Wednesday, but no way will the course be playable by then.

Oh well.

Okay, here's the problem I see with all this snow for me and my area. The Midwest. It's going to melt quickly, and the Missouri river is going to raise, quickly. Once the reservoirs are full anyway. Shades of 2011. I think that was the year. This may be the reason the boat club next to me hasn't put in their docks yet this year.

To bad they can't channel that overflow to the Colorado River and Lake Mead (cover some of those bodies they keep fining )

I guess 15" in two days wasn't enough. Snowing hard again.

Yeah, I wish we could come up with a water management system to direct water on a larger scale, so drought-stricken areas could get relieved by flood-prone areas.

I was down in town last night and there was an actual thunderstorm!

Thunder, lightning, rain- rarely happens up here. Nice rain on top of the snow. I guess we're going to get a little bit of everything this week.

My poor dog was a bit freaked out when I got home. He does not like thunder one bit.
