Best web sites to help you learn how to play guitar better?!!??
I'm curious who has found some good guitar web sites that help you learn how to be a better guitar player??
The best one I have found so far is www.jguitar.com it has a lot of scale and chord calculators and dictionaries which I have found quite helpful and useful. Check it out if you want to learn something new on your instrument!

I'll put in a plug for us, www.rhythmstrummer.com If you want to learn some great rock, folk, country or Beatles we are the place. We also have a large technique library that covers a wide range of topics.

IMHO, I find it hard to justify paying a monthly fee to any site when you can find so much lesson material out there for free. I totally agree with giving a donation (the way Justinguitar does it), or paying for a single song video if you are trying to learn something really specific, but monthly recurring fees, where the sites (and there are several) don't even let you download any of the lesson videos to your own PC , I - PERSONALLY - don't agree with.
Here are my suggestions for several sites with very good teaching videos that all include free, downloadable material: www.saskstrum.com www.davejonesguitar.co.uk these offer free song and scales video lessons with tab www.kickstartguitar.com www.acoustic-guitar-songs.com free and pay-per-song video lessons www.guitarnoise.com Well written song lessons with MP3 clips but no video. And for fingerstyle: http://www.ericlugosch.com/lessonhome.html Good luck and best wishes, Rc |

RE Target Membership
No Sir , not yet a Target member, but seriously considering it. I managed to get a free complete Target lesson posted to see what it was l like compared to the free stuff. I also have picked up a few good songs, for play out of the free section. Currently my computer is too slow to handle the videos with out buffering every few seconds so I am holding of on joining for two reason. 1 faster computing, 2. Seem they still have a few bugs to work out. Due diligence will pay off I have spent many hours on the site just fishing around. Acoustic formum members can also help with advise I have gotten some good information and opinion from forum folks here.

+1 for justinguitar.com, very easy to follow lessons and a very organized site.
Also Justin wrote for and toured with Katie Melua... Lucky B.......!

Utterly jealous of Justin for the Katie Melua opportunity....but a definite vote for his site.

Threechordguitar.com
This is not a very sophisticated site, but "Mojo" the host, is a little twisted and to me at least, pretty funny.
http://threechordguitar.com/ I have had great fun watching his videos and jump starting songs that I don't know. Some of his videos are more complicated than three chords. You'll either love his approach or it will leave you cold, but this guy is clearly having fun and it is infectious. Highly recommended for beginning players with a sense of humor. Mojo, are you on AGF?

Hmmm, I'm wondering why nobody mentions the biggies like http://guitartricks.com and http://jamplay.com , interesting.
Here is a less known beginner guitar lesson site: http://www.theguitarlesson.com And I wish I were Justin as well, to have met and played with Katie Melua!!! |
