Thanks for that. I'm ready for them to update their website for sure - it has been out of date for some time now.

Thanks much. While I LOVE all-wood guitars (and will be quite stuck to them until death), I am always a bit hesitant to take them out in the weather if it isn't very good. Also, I have just been contacted about possibly going to India on a missions trip, and taking a guitar that is fairly impervious to the elements and structurally tough as nails is quite attractive to me for traveling into the great unknown..... It seems that a CA might fill the bill for something like this. I haven't even played one yet, so I can't make a decision, but they are quite intriguing.

I do see a couple of errors. the 7 and 8 series come with hard shell cases. that is from info on a powerpoint presentation straight from CA guitars.

sirflyguy2000, You are going to be shocked! I was. I too will always love wood but just knowing you have a Guitar that is basically impervious to the elements and sounds good is a beautiful thing.

Just purchsed a CA Player....love it. My purchase was based on info from this site and different sound clips on My Space including a My Space page dedicated to CA guitars. IMHO CA needs to improve their site by using high res pics, better layout and updating. Based only on their website alone..I would not have purchased their products.

VoxBoy, what sized player did you buy? X, GX, dread? or in new terms the S, M or L?

I have a GX performer I bought end of December and LOVE it. I sold a Taylor 814CE to buy it and don`t regret it one bit!
Any way I got to play a 8LE which is basically the Legacy performer dread. WHOA that thing was a major canon!!! I thought my GX had some major punch.

Played many guitars at the store but the CAs were some of the nicest sounding IMO.

What's the real difference between a GX Performer, a GX Player etc... Is it merely electronics? I assume there can not be any real differences in tone from the materials used in construction?

Thumbs up

Just checked out their website. Wow. That GX has some sexy body/cutaway sculpting. I love the look and feel of carbon composite. My Parker has it on the neck/fingerboard and it is my favorite neck ever.

they no longer classify the guitars buy Performer and players series etc. ( BTW there WAS a tone difference as they had different bracing patterns from the player to performer)

anyway the new models would go like this for the GX body

8MCE - top of the line- performer bracing premium elctronics- rosetteand fret dots. eye candy! hard shell case.

7MCE- Same bracing as the 8 series but NO eye candy. No rosette or fret dots. just black goss carbon burst. hard hsell case

6MCE- standard bracing -RT finish in tribal scemes- gig bag
5MCE- standard bracing - RT finish- gog bag
