Right in that price range. Lower price sans electronics, higher price with it...

I talked with someone at CA about a tech question and asked them about new guitars. I thought he said they are working on a 12 string. I could be wrong.

This guitar sounds huge. The offset soundhole allowed them to tweak the bracing and... well, you're going to need to play one. I'm trying to get my hands on one at the moment...

February, 2008.

Given that I'd like a really small parlor sized this fits- but I wish it was full scale length for more power. I'd love to hear people who have played this guitar side by side with the CA Guitar's X as a basis for comparison.

Oh, and as to why this over a 12 strings, it probably has something to do with trying to hit a sub $1K suggested retail price point.

The short scale length concerns me too. Given the lower tension requirement for a short-scale guitar to be tuned up to concert pitch, the guitar may have intonation issues with floppy light-gauge strings in standard tuning. This is why I ultimately got rid of my Baby Taylor, which wasn't designed to handle mediums or a higher tuning. Fortunately Martin figured this out and built their LXM series to handle mediums. Even better, Emerald's travel X5s were built with a full 25.5" scale and a bridge that was part of the top -- great intonation with lights, and no separation issues with mediums (and still small enough to bring on any plane).

I'm happy with my X5, but if the CA has remarkably better tone then I may want to get one. But if they are designed for light-gauge strings only, then I'd have to pass -- all the tone in the world won't make up for bad intonation.

It looks somewhat larger than my Larrivee parlor.

I think they realized that the most sale is probably going to be in that range. Im guess it a mental thing. Once it get pass $1k, i often think it too expensive, that why there are .99c Stores.

Could you let us know if you get any of these? I think there may be more than a few folks here who are developing some CA GAS.
