Default Anyone going to Spring Training in Arizona?

Heading out for a week with the Giants and A's...lots of poker, baseball. and hiking! Interested to see what the fan response is towards the recent cheating scandal.

Not in Arizona for me. I’m in the Fort Myers, Fl. area for the winter where the Red Sox and Twins play at their respective parks. The Red Sox “Jet Blue” (Little Fenway) park even has a green monster. We take in some games each season, mostly the Red Sox, and usually frequent a local craft brewery after the games. Lots of fun.

Palm Beach, FL for me, where the Nats and the Astros share the venue. Talk about a paradox!

But, since I'm a Mets fan, I'll drive to Port St. Lucie

JPD - have fun at the games. The hiking sounds more interesting than spring training though.

Any chance to catch an NHL game in Phoenix/Glendale?

I know some snowbirds who live in Goodyear (west of Phoenix) half of every year. Fields were soaked/unusable yesterday and ticketholders were given rain checks.

I just got here today for a week. Tomorrow’s game shouldn’t get rained out.

I'm not interested in baseball, but I drive past the Angels stadium on my way home from work. The stadium appears to be packed when they are playing.

I haven't followed baseball in a very long time. Funny I would end up in SW Florida where there are several parks nearby, one of which is 10 minutes from me. From what I see judging by the amount of traffic, there seems to be no shortage of fans.

I was there last week for a funeral....but got to catch a couple games too. I stayed in Scottsdale but went out to Goodyear for a couple Indians games. Was going to try a Giants game at Scottsdale but their ticket prices were too high for me.

I did catch a Giants batting practice though. Parked my rental car on the street outside their practice facility and my car immediately got hit by a ball. When I got inside the facility I realized I was parked near the RF fence marked 350 feet. That ball was hit about 380'.

Default Hoo-Boy

Now just a few days from heading to Spring Training, the Covid-19 threat is ramping up. One of my buddies sent me a news post from yesterday saying that none of the Spring games will be cancelled and the stadiums will stay open. I saw an article saying the MLB Prez will meet next Monday with the teams to decide. With March madness stadiums now closed,NBA games next, high school games cancelled, airlines cutting flights, I'm beginning to think it's wise to stay home and pay the cancellation fees.

I'm glad I got 3 games in two weeks ago before everything got cancelled. It's always fun watching pro baseball in a high-school sized stadium for the "up close" feeling.
