I was recently lucky enough to have purchased the Chris Wood 000 that was for sale on the AGF marketplace. The guitar has a black Walnut back and sides with an Engelmann Spruce top and Claro Walnut neck. The top is done with the nicest sunburst that I have ever seen - absolutely beautiful as is the entire finish of the guitar.

I have also been lucky enough to have owned (and still own a couple) guitars built by well respected individual luthiers as well as some of the better boutique builders. The craftsmanship of this guitar is second to none that I have owned. From the headstock to the tail wedge, the attention to detail that Chris devoted to this guitar is as close to perfect as one could imagine. Great craftsmanship by anyone’s standards, I would say.

Chris put up some sound clips when he advertised the guitar on the marketplace, and I liked what I heard from those (obviously), but to say the tone of the guitar is even better when playing it and listening to it in person is certainly an understatement. Very responsive, excellent balance and plays easily. As I said: I feel very fortunate to be the lucky owner of this fine guitar.

Lucky man you are, I saw that ad and lusted for days. I often don't like sunbursts- or any stains- on an acoustic, but that is one beautiful guitar.

Very, very nice. Good to see some new luthiers making a good name for themselves. I'll also say that I'm not usually partial to burst finishes, but every once in a while one stands out and this guitar certainly did. Enjoy!

I remember that guitar from the marketplace section. Extremely nice looking. It made me forget I was fully satisfied with my guitars for a moment. Glad to hear it is meeting the tonal expectations. Congratulations.

I checked that one out, that is a real beauty! Love the curly maple bindings.

I agree about the binding, lovely. I also especially liked the position markers. Very classy.

I haven't ever been a big fan of sunburst finished guitars, either...until I saw this one in person. Can't help but like a finish done as well as the one on this guitar. Very easy on the eyes.

The bindings are magnificent, and the fret markers are very nice and somewhat unique. I'm still very happy that I decided to buy the guitar, even when I consider the fact that I didn't really "need" or want another one. I had no intentions of buying the guitar, or any other, when I first looked at the ad in the Marketplace forum. But for the price and the apparent quality, I just couldn't pass it up. I guess too much of a good thing really is a good thing.
