Ike Everly
Picture of an Everly Brothers guitar on another thread (it was designed that way to produce a "dry", somewhat muted tone) got me wondering if there was anything on line about their father, legendary guitar picker Ike Everly. The answer seems to be "not a whole lot", but here is a recording of him with Phil and Don at Newport, long ago.

It's not a video, it's a link to an article about Ike that includes an audio recording of the Newport show.

My Christmas present to the AGF!
I'll throw this into the mix, it actually is a video, from a Johnny Cash Christmas special. Sound is, uh, not great, but kind of fun to watch Ike Everly and Mother Maybelle playing the same guitar. At the same time, that is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DoxwrSHKr0

I don't know but the brothers went to my high school so that is my high school's claim to fame. Besides me of course! Waaaaaaay before me of course. From everything I have heard about them, they were hoodlums as teenagers. They were originally from Ky and moved to Knoxville TN and went to West High School and from what I remember it was because that is where their father found work at the time Knoxville was a major country music hub back then with lots of people getting their start here like locals Chet Atkins, Roy Acuff and of course Dolly Parton just to name a few. I think it was Chet Atkins that discovered the brothers.
